Wcześniej wiele znanych osób zdecydowało się na objęcie ochroną ubezpieczeniową części ciała, dzięki którym wykonują swoją pracę, albo są ich znakiem firmowym (np. biust piosenkarki country, Dolly Parton, ubezpieczony na 0,35 mln funtów). Są wśród nich m.in.: futbolista David Beckham (nogi 40 mln funtów), muzyk Gene Simmons (język, 072 mln), top modelka Heidi Klum (nogi, 1,15 mln), czy wokalista Tom Jones (włosy… na klatce piersowej, 3,7 mln).
Gazeta przypomina, że pionierem ubezpieczania części ciała był zezowaty komik i gwiazda niemego kina, Ben Turpin. Ubezpieczył się on na wypadek, gdyby jego wada (dzięki której był rozpoznawalny) ustąpiła. Co ciekawe, plotki o ubezpieczeniu atutów gwiazd wopływają na wzrost wartości firm oferujących takie polisy.
