Od utraty całego majątku nie jest bezpieczna żadna firma – nawet największa, z majątkiem o wartości kilku miliardów złotych. Jednak nie spędza im to snu z powiek. Jak wynika z danych zebranych przez „Wall Street Journal Polska”, wielkie firmy nie dbają o ubezpieczenie swojego wyposażenia. Lekceważeniu problemu towarzyszy brak wiedzy na temat możliwości zapewnienia sobie ochrony ubezpieczeniowej.
Tegoroczna analiza sporządzona przez kancelarię prawną Brockhuis Schnell Jurczak Prusak mówi jasno: poziom niedoubezpieczenia polskich firm wynosi średnio aż 40 proc., co oznacza, że zabezpieczone jest jedynie 60 proc. ich majątku. Dla ubezpieczycieli oznacza to, że wynoszący kilka miliardów złotych roczny przypis składki z tytułu ubezpieczeń dla firm mógłby się podwoić. Warunek jest jeden: przedsiębiorstwa muszą zacząć podchodzić z większą starannością do bezpieczeństwa prowadzenia swojego biznesu.
Korporacje już od dłuższego czasu są zasypywane przez towarzystwa ofertami typu all risks ( ubezpieczenie od wszelkiego ryzyka ). Dzięki nim można ubezpieczyć całe wyposażenie, budynki, itp. dosłownie „ na wszelki wypadek” – bez względu na rodzaj zdarzenia przedsiębiorca może liczyć na rekompensatę, gdyż ma zagwarantowane odszkodowanie od wszystkich obiektywnych przyczyn zaistnienia szkody. Co z tego, skoro ubezpieczenia tego typu nie cieszą się popularnością u ich adresatów.
Przedstawiciele Compensy uważają, że bierze się to stąd, iż klienci są przekonani, że polisa chroniąca przed wszystkim tak naprawdę nie chroni przed niczym. Robert Trzos, główny specjalista w departamencie ubezpieczeń gospodarczych Compensy mówi, że firmy ciągle stosują ubezpieczenia typu all risks w zbyt małym stopniu. Dodaje, że wielu klientów posiadających typowe polisy majątkowe nie zawsze zdaje sobie sprawę, że zakres wyłączeń nie obejmuje ochroną szkód, które bardzo często są newralgiczne dla danych urządzeń.
Gorzej jednak, jeśli uszkodzenie sprzętu spowoduje wstrzymanie lub choćby spowolnienie działalności firmy. W takiej sytuacji przedsiębiorstwo musi liczyć się z dodatkowymi stratami i to w niektórych przypadkach liczonych w milionach złotych. Zatrzymanie działalności jest również objęte ochroną ubezpieczeniową i towarzystwa chętnie ją oferują, proponując specjalne polisy. Tego typu ubezpieczenia noszą nazwę business interruption (BI). Gwarantują one przedsiębiorcy odszkodowanie w sytuacji, gdy ze względu na zniszczenie całego bądź części parku maszynowego firma jest zmuszona do przerwania działalności.
Przedsiębiorstwa o tak skomplikowanych produktach ubezpieczeniowych często nie wiedzą, gdyż nie zatrudniają osób znających się na ubezpieczeniach. Robert Trzos twierdzi, że polskie przedsiębiorstwa bardzo rzadko mają wydzielone osobne komórki zarządzania ryzykiem. Dodaje, że przez to wrasta rola brokera i ubezpieczyciela w procesie edukacji ubezpieczeniowej i fachowym doradztwie.
Przekonać przedsiębiorcę jest niezwykle trudno, bo każdy szuka okazji do oszczędności w firmie. Przykład: zaniżanie wartości majątku aby zapłacić niższą składkę. A w przypadku dużych przedsiębiorstw oszczędności są naprawdę spore: np. kopalnie , która płacą towarzystwu nawet 60 mln złotych rocznie przy najmniejszej korekcie mogą zaoszczędzić kilka milionów złotych. Jest jednak druga strona medalu: w przypadku szkody odszkodowanie może nie wystarczyć na pokrycie realnych kosztów naprawy, na co zwraca uwagę Robert Trzos.
Ci, którzy szukają oszczędności, a chcą się ubezpieczyć, powinni zrobić to właśnie w tym momencie. Konkurencja pomiędzy towarzystwami w segmencie polis dla firm sprawiła, że stawki za ubezpieczenia są niższe nierzadko nawet o kilkadziesiąt procent. Co więcej, niektórzy ubezpieczyciele mocno zaniżają taryfy w celu zdobycia nowych klientów.
