W dniu dzisiejszym rozpoczyna się w Toruniu dwudniowa konferencja pod tytułem „O potrzebie polskiego Kodeksu ubezpieczeń”. Jej współorganizatorami są Grupa PZU, Uniwersytet Mikołaja Kopernika oraz Polska Izba Ubezpieczeń.rn
Tematem spotkania będzie pomysł stworzenia w Polsce jednolitej regulacji, określającej zasady funkcjonowania rynku ubezpieczeniowego. Jest to szczególnie istotny problem w świetle obecnie obowiązujących przepisów, gdzie reguły gry na rynku ubezpieczeniowym określa kilka ustaw i rozporządzeń.
Regulacje dotyczące prawa asekuracyjnego znajdują się m.in. w ustawie o działalności ubezpieczeniowej, o pośrednictwie ubezpieczeniowym, czy o ubezpieczeniach obowiązkowych, UFG i PBUK.
Sporo istotnych kwestii reguluje także Kodeks Cywilny.
W ciągu ostatnich lat ubezpieczenia stały się w Polsce jedną z najważniejszych części sektora finansowego. Obecnie krajowe zakłady zbierają w ciągu roku 15 mld euro składek, co daje Polsce miejsce w tej samej lidze co Finlandia, Portugalia czy Irlandia. To powoduje, że sektor ubezpieczeniowy potrzebuje jednolitej regulacji – Kodeksu ubezpieczeń.
Takie rozwiązanie z powodzeniem funkcjonuje już we Francji.
W Polsce na podstawie jednolitego zapisu działa np. sektor bankowy.
Podczas konferencji przedstawione zostaną doświadczenia innych krajów europejskich – m.in. Francji i Niemiec – dotyczące rozwiązań w prawie ubezpieczeniowym.
Organizatorami konferencji, nad którą honorowy patronat objął dr Józef Zych, przewodniczący Komisji Odpowiedzialności Konstytucyjnej Sejmu RP są Grupa PZU, Uniwersytet Mikołaja Kopernika w Toruniu, Towarzystwo Naukowe Organizacji i Kierownictwa oraz Polska Izba Ubezpieczeń..
