Gazeta przypomina, że w ramach programu pilotażowego Tesco oferowało ubezpieczenia komunikacyjne od marca do listopada 2009 r. w trzech supermarketach w Polsce. O fiasku eksperymentu przesądziło przywiązanie Polaków do tradycyjnych kanałów sprzedaży polis. Sieć dystrybuuje nadal inne produkty ubezpieczeniowe, m.in. polisy zdrowotne i życiowe. „Parkiet” zwraca uwagę, że półtora roku temu rozpoczęcie sprzedaży zapowiadała również Telekomunikacja Polska. Spółka poinformował gazetę, że nie rezygnuje z tego projektu i jest obecnie na etapie negocjacji z wybranymi firmami ubezpieczeniowymi.
